A red wine stain is a common sight on a white or off-white and otherwise spotless carpet. Unless you know how to remove a red wine stain if and when it occurs and you can move quickly then you should be successful in returning the affected area of carpet to its previous pristine condition. Acting quickly is all-important when you spill something – it doesn’t matter what it is or what you’ve spilt it on, time is always of the essence.
If red wine is spilt on the carpet and you know how to act, pick your poison and show the carpet who’s master. If, on the other hand, you don’t know an effective wine stain removal method, just following a few easy steps should prove successful in removing the worst of the stain.
The first thing is to absorb any excess wine before it has a change to soak and sink into the carpet. Grab plenty of clean white cloth or kitchen towel and press the towel to the stain. Don’t rub, just apply pressure to the towel and allow it to soak up as much of the wine as possible. After this, you will need to apply a good detergent or carpet stain remover before applying a little water and continuing to blot in order to soak up the wine from within the carpet fibres.
